Exposed timber structure is the main event at this new home in Saint Germain. It frames the central double height windows that view the lakefront. Timber posts are grounded in stone with its warm tones reminiscent of the local Wisconsin Limestone. This yellow and red limestone was formed by the ancient sea that once covered Wisconsin and Minnesota. These two materials are brought together though the engineered wood siding. This product from Diamond Kote uses LP Smartide from their DuoBlend line, the raised texture in the siding is given a different color than the base. This gives the product a more wood-like appearance with all the durability of an engineered composite. The light tone shake accent siding brings contrast to the home while still calling back to the traditional style.
The timber frame extends into the inteiror, creating a conenction between the inside and outside entertainment spaces. The garage on the street front on the home is large enough for all the snow and water toys. The open kitchen allows for views across the home and free communication between the kitchen and living room. The attached three season room offers 180° views of the water.
This home will be the jewel on the lake while still having a sense of belonging to the local environment.
